I have a 2001 Harley Night Train. Does anyone know how to match the black wrinkle paint thats on the engine and the rear fender supports? I wont to match this paint on my dash center for a different look. Thanks!
i've never seen the nighttrain motor up close but i do know that at auto stores you can get wrinkle finish spray bomb. I've used it before and it works nice. the key is it has to be warm and the more you put on the more it wrinkles. try a test panel first. I also saw that eastwood makes a wrinkle finish powder coat which may be better for your application. It looks real good but i've never used it personally
with a bit of practice spraying all paint types at very low pressure can achieve wrinkle affect.
Over here in new zealand we call it texture coating .on things like plastic bumpers that have the wrinkle I
- spray on the colour normally to get coverage
- then turn down the gun pressure untill the paint is coming out as a wrinkle/texture effect
hope this can make sense and help
