Hi all

Are there any known problems with using rust inhibiting zinc phosphate primers with urethanes and water based paints.

I have been given a load of the primer but dont want to start running into compatability problems /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Are you sure it isn't zinc chromate?I don't recall a zinc phosphate, but then again I do have a bad memory.

According to the tin its zinc phosphate, suppose the only way to tell will be to run a test panel and hope for the best /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bounce.gif

i have found not much like to stick to that stuff. it works good on car/truck frames or behind 1/4 panals. for some reason the really cheap rattle can paint and rustoleum sticks to it. but i have had no luck with anything else

The Technical version.
zinc phosphate has been primarily developed as a environmental friendly substitute to zinc chrome for corrosion protection . The large, uniform grain structure and even thickness coating gives excellent retention for lubricants and rust preventives
