Laquer paint question

Hello again, its been a while since my last thread/post. My truck has some kind of black enamel paint over the Original paint lt. blue and pure wht. and I'm wondering if a paint stripper will JUST remove that enamel paint and leave the original paint. I'm thinking the original paint is maybe Laquer. While watching one of the car restoring shows I thought I heard that stripper doesn't remove the Laquer paints, is that true or did I hear that wrong? My truck is a 68 C10, color code #507 lt. blue with #521 pure wht. or its combination paint code of #537.

Any body know for sure if paint stripper will leave the Laquer paint alone and just remove the enamel paint?
