why don't you use the clear with the kit? or are you just going to use the chameleon color cuz it's cheap and use a good clear?
I've used the Mirage system you are talking about. It works pretty good but follow the steps closely. As for a clear, I used HOK lacquer clear and PPG's brand. Neither one reacted with Duplicolor. I couldn't find a two part that was compatible with Duplicolor. You can forget getting help from anyone in the technical department at Duplicolor. I went down that road and all they will recommend is Duplicolor clear. I painted an air dam for my bike and used the clear that came with the Mirage system. To be honest it turned out better than the the HOK and PPG.

All Dupli color users spray with uro and it will last and stand up to gas.

I too, am a beginner, and I did my mailbox with Krylon, and so far has held up really well over the past year.
